For the journal ‘Umweltpsychologie’ I am co-editing a special issue entitled ‘Young Environmental Psychology in a nutshell’, which is scheduled to be published in the beginning of 2020. Please refer to the linked CfP, or the text below. Deadline for submissions in English or German: 30. June 2019

Call text

Many projects and theses conducted in environmental psychology by students have the potential to further the development of our field by advancing methods and theory, but also by contributing to solutions for real-life problems. To increase the visibility of the work conducted by this subgroup of environmental psychologists, we want to focus on scientific ‘juniors’ and invite students to showcase their theses and papers in our issue 1/2020 which is called ‘Kurzum: Junge Umweltpsychologie’ (Young Environmental Psychology in a nutshell). We welcome a wide range of work, e.g., Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Diploma theses, parts of dissertations, and project reports. These can be presented in our new ‘short report’ format. Longer contributions in the conventional article format are of course equally welcome. The contributions may concern developments in theory or methodology, or interventional approaches, e.g.:

  • Empirical reports; including non-significant findings, which may be hard to publish otherwise but nonetheless constitute valuable implications for research and/or practice – as long as they are methodologically sound and adhere to good scientific practice
  • Replication studies
  • Applications of empirical results to real-life challenges
  • Other work (e.g., research proposals or summaries of pertinent dissertation theses), after consultation with the editors

Manuscripts may be written in German or English and shall be submitted until 30 June 2019. If you are interested in submitting to this issue, we would greatly appreciate a short expression of interest (via e-mail) well before this deadline.

The focus topic of issue 1/2020 shall primarily consist of short reports. This format is limited to four to five pages and comes with a streamlined and open review process (open peer review).
